On the 1st June 2020, 54 Data Techniques employees began a challenge to collectively cover 1988 miles, a reference to the year the company began, without any form of motorised or powered transport. Over the next two weeks the group managed to cover over 4170 miles, absolutely smashing their target with the equivalent of travelling to Kathmandu, the closest city to Mount Everest. The challenge was undertaken in an effort to raise money for the NHS and in recognition of the incredible effort they’ve displayed given the current circumstances we’re in. The team has managed to raise over £1100 for this very worthwhile charity.
Managing director, Nick Crosby, said ‘It was fantastic to see the business pull together during this challenging time in support of the NHS. The team spirit and togetherness shown was apparent and it gave everyone a real purpose to go and explore the great outdoors and keep active. Plans are already underway for our next challenge.’
A massive well done to all those involved, and prizes will be making their way to you over the coming days!
